Digital Audio Recording and Editing |
Using top quality microphones and equipment we can record to Digital Audio Tape, Compact Flash, |
Minidisc or Hard Disk Recorder. Often the sound is recorded straight into our Digital Audio Workstation |
where the recording can be manipulated in the digital domain without degrading the sound. |
We provide an editing service that cuts right down to the digital sample, enabling |
complex audio soundscapes to be created. |
We specialise in being creative with sound by producing special effects and ideas |
to enhance your viewers' and listeners' audio experience. |
The Sound Factory's audio software of choice is Steinberg's Nuendo. |
Nuendo is a 32 bit, floating point, native system for flexibility and crystal clear audio. |
We also have available Cubase 4, Cool Edit and Sonar. |

Nuendo 8i/o 8 channel DA converter |
Our standard operating method is to work with files at 44.1 kHz sampling frequency for audio CDs and |
48 kHz for video related work - both are 24 bit files manipulated in a 32 bit floating point environment |
for degradation free results. Operation at other sampling frequencies, for instance 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz |
is available as needed. The 24 bit files are dithered to 16 bit for audio CD and video tape as nessessary. |
